Chaos Theory
Sample script focused in exploring the sci-fi and dystopia genre, emphasizing natural, believable, functional, and interesting dialogues between characters.
Chaos Theory follows protagonist Shina Yurio, hero of the Third World War. Years after the end of the war, Shina is now a retired general, working as a anti-terrorist director for the worldwide organization INA (Integrated Nations Assembly). After an anonymus letter, she realizes she may have fought for the wrong side, making her responsible of the death of her friend Victoria Emerson. Led by Aahmon, the INA and his most trusted weapon, Zero, will hunt her down no matter the cost, deceiving the world into turning its back on its former hero.
Price of Trust
Fragment of a short adventure story with fantasy elements, this piece focuses on world building, characterization, and creating a narrative with the potential to create subsequent stories.
The story begins in the year 2095, in the planet of Spero, the new home of humanity after the destruction of the planet Earth. Humans have been born with unique mutations for the past 52 years, granting them varied levels of control over atomic particles. Following the deeds of the first hero, The Iron Dragon, back in 2043, a new society and religion centered on heroic feats is now the norm. Within this new society, Sygrid Imperia is known as the hero without glory, despite her great well-known deeds. Her life will forever change after the newly crowned king of the City of Lux calls for her aid to solve a mystery in the new city of Atarashi Nihon.
The Hrisaca Estate
This mystery and horror piece explores environmental descriptions while also serving as a prologue to the technical demo of Hrisaca, developed by Luis Javier Fragoso Rojas and me.
Taking place in 1987, the story follows Lucia, a 22-year-old aspiring chemist. After the recent death of her grandmother, she and her brothers Eduardo (17) and Ramon (30) are invited by their distant cousin Victor to Mexico, Coixtlahuaca, Oaxaca. After their arrival at the enormous estate, Lucia quickly realizes things aren’t normal in that place, seeing how taxidermized corpses of animals and people come to life, aiming to hunt her down. Lucia will have to uncover the dark past of the estate, dating back to 1910 in order to understand the forces at play that have now taken over her families destiny.
As a writer...
I never limit myself to genres and narrative designs I am used to. I constantly try to improve my craft, and to do so, I go to great lengths in order to go out of my comfort zone.
I am knowledgeable in the use of narrative tools, such as: prologues, flashbacks, dream sequences, dialogues, and nonlinear narrative structures to enrich the final product and its experience. Some of my favorite genres in which I have worked on are: adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, horror and mystery. I am always open to try new things, either in the technical or artistic aspect.
Some of the tools I use for my writing are Final Draft, Twine, Microsoft Word and Articy. I am also able to speak and write in either Spanish and English, and I am able to work in either of those languages without any problem.
